Low Self-Esteem
Low self-esteem comes from untrue, or distorted, beliefs that something is wrong with you- held deep in your emotional brain center. These belief can have you feel unworthy or less deserving of respect and love.
The false beliefs that fuel low self-esteem are often due to being excessive criticized, bullied, abused or neglected as a child.
The impact of low self-esteem is painful, and causes: shame,guilt, depression, anxiety or despair. It can also lower your confidence, and make relationships more difficult. Low self-esteem can inhibit assertiveness or setting reasonable limits with yourself or others, causing you to settle for less than satisfying life circumstances.
